The 3451E Surge Test Station provides high current surge testing capability for two leaded devices such as Diodes, TVS's (transient voltage suppressors) Zeners and SSOVP devices. The 3451E can perform the following surge test types with a maximum compliance of 300V:

• 10 x 1000 exponential: 0 - 300A DUT voltage pre-bias
• 8 x 20 exponential: 0 - 300A DUT voltage pre-bias
• Square wave: 0 - 300A
• ½ Sine wave: 0 - 120A
• ½ Sine wave w/DC current bias: 0 - 90A ½ sine plus 0 - 9A DC bias

In addition to the surge, tests the 3451E can perform the following tests:

• Kelvin contact verification · VF · IR (adequate to detect gross failures)
• DVF (thermal impedance)
• Impulse reset (SSOVP)
• Reverse Energy Test, with the optional IF6 box
